The Art Mundo Artists and the St Lucie Fire Department partner together each year to raise money for children’s shoes in our county.  Last year, I understand they raised enough money to put shoes on 500 pairs of lil’ feet.  So, this year when the boots came around, I claimed one for myself.   And I knew right away that I wanted to create an artistic layered grafitti look.

I used a variety of Krylon ColorMaster colors as well as many stencils from The Crafter’s Workshop.  The boot was actually a used boot from one of our St Lucie County Firefighters.  Took a little scrubbing to get it ready for the paint, but the good news is that the paint worked really great on the rubber boot.

Layers upon layers of colors and stencils were used.  I started with a gray base and then used all the pops of color with the stencils while layering ivory and white to tone down and blend the layers.  And of course I must use Blue Ocean Breeze because it is close to my signature colors!

I sprayed the white along the top of the boot up close so that it would create some wonderful drips.

Here is a shot of a few of the other boots that were created by Art Mundo artists.  This is a great cause and I’m so honored to be a part of it.  I hope we can raise monies again this year to help provide shoes for more ‘lil’ feet’.
