The California Boulevard, Rajouri Garden, New Delhi

We visited the Gurgaon outlet of ‘The California Boulevard’ a few weeks back and ever since I have been trying to go to their Rajouri Garden’s outlet, which is the first outlet of this restaurant. The place is very close to the Rajouri Garden Metro Station. Both the restaurants are on similar lines in terms of ambiance, look and seating arrangement. The outlet is setup over two floors and the top floor houses the ‘Chef’s Table’, a unique concept in fine dining. The facade is remarkable and can be seen from a distance.

The California Boulevard is known to bring the luxury of the ‘West’ to the plates in Delhi. The grandeur can be spotted at every nook and corner. The walls are decorated with famous Hollywood stars and the LED displays Hollywood news and journeys. The Harley Davidson is among the main attractions here and the Walk of Fame takes you straight to California! Special emphasis needs to given to the staff who are always warm and happy to help. Staffs wear gloves to keep the luxury peerless.

Drinks:-

Yellow Jacket – Rum based drink with Campari, lime juice, honey and soda. The taste is sweet as well as sour at the same time. 8/10

TCB Wild Liquid – Refreshing vodka based drink with muddled Ginger and Basil Leaves with Cranberry Juice and soda. 9/10

Chi Chi – Vodka based drink with coconut cream, pineapple and vanilla ice-cream, decorated with Pineapple wedge. A unique drink made for people who love coconut taste. 9/10

Appetizers:-

Delhi Ki Chat – The deep fried spinach leaves which are crunchy and topped with layer of curd, tamarind chutney and mint chutney. The sev on top is delightful. This snacks is very light and can be eaten all day long! 9/10

Tangy Button Mushrooms – Probably I had to order it again after the last review. The Tangy Button Mushroom with fried noodles is a must have. The sweet chilli sauce with the tangy mushroom is outstanding. 9/10

Sushi Panner – The flavors, texture and taste will take your breath away. The stuffing of Mushroom is subtle in flavors. The outer layer just melts in the mouth. 8/10

Main Course:-

Creamy Cheese Sauce Pasta – The white creamy cheese sauce pasta was delicious. 9/10

Ratatouille – A tangy tomato sauce on top of a layer of rice may not be the replica of this famous French dish but this still does the job. 7/10

Red Thai Curry – Refresh red Thai curry with sticky rice. The taste of fresh Basil and coconut milk stands out. 7/10

Wild Mushroom and Truffle Oil Risotto – Wild Mushroom risotto was damn tasty, the texture was creamy. Olive Oil is also served incase one needs it. 8/10

Shahi Daal Makhani – Probably the best seller at TCB and after tasting it I know why. You have to be here to taste it. 9/10

Peanut Butter Panner – Soft chunks of Panner with Tangy creamy tomato curry. Delightful! 8/10

Bread Basket – The bread basket had Lachha Paratha and Butter Roti. The breads were soft and soaking with delicious butter. 8/10

Amritsari Kulcha – The cheese filled Amritsari kulcha comes with Raita. The kulcha was super soft and the combination with cheese was incredible. Served with Raita. 9/10

Desserts:-

Classic Tiramisu – This classic dessert with layers of mascarpone cheese and coffee flavored cake. Topped with coffee dust. 7/10

Chocolate Nuttella Torte – This is chocolate lovers delight. This multi-layer chocolate delicacy is an indulgence in itself. A top class Dessert. 10/10

Tab Tim Grob – If you like the flavor of coconut and water-chestnuts this one is probably for you. Not overly sweet this dessert is one of its kind. The coconut milk makes this dish watery but still worth trying. 9/10

Flame Baileys Jamun – Rich Gulab Jamun soaked in Bailey overnight served with fresh cream. Flaming Bailey’s is poured over it. 7/10

TCB Kulfi Gazzak – A speciality at ‘The California Boulevard’. The chocolate layer on the top is melted by a flaming torch. The Kulfi is delicious. Do have it! 9/10

Green Tea – Must have after such a sumptuous meal.

A place with the luxury of west and dishes with global taste.
