Monolithos

Monolithos is located on the southern side of the island, 80 km from Rhodes Town, so you definitely need a car to get there. It is one of the most impressive villages in Rhodes with a Venetian castle, which was built by the knights in the 15 th century, on the top of a rock. The village is very beautiful with stone-built houses and cobblestone paths, but it is worth the walk for a couple of km to see the castle and the church climbing over the top.
