Despite its humble beginnings, the Korean fashion scene, probably best represented during Seoul Fashion Week has become one of Asia's and the world's most promising fashion events, with innovative style concepts and designs being released every season.

Even though Seoul Fashion Week took place a few months ago (March 22 - March 31), we want to share with you the latest in Korean trends, as we're sure you'll find a lot of inspiration for the fall-winter 2016-17 season.

Take a look at the looks and brand that made out fashion edit.

Designer Jang Hyeong-cheol presented one of the greatest collections during Seoul Fashion Week. We really enjoyed this ensemble, supported by the jacket, which is well tailored and would look just as well on a woman as it does on a man. The gray pants are also a young alternative to other neutrals.

Changing a silhouette can change the whole look of a print. The brand has used this print before (for the jacket above), but placed on a different type of piece, resulting in the print looking completely different! Well done!

Feeling and looking in control, but relaxed and smooth is what style is all about, and this look is a great example for that. Talk about Korean sperzzatura.

Just in case you wondered how a stretched out winter coat would look like, Ordinary People offered and answer. What is remarkable about this coat is the way the bottom print balances out the heavy fur on the neck. Fashion is all about striking a balance.

We always love to see designers put a new twist on classic looks. This outfit, spotted in the 87MM fall 2016 runway show is a great illustration of that. It is a very classic look and tailoring, but the difference made by the shiny pants makes it a brand new aesthetic, by breaking up an otherwise monotone concept.

The fur coat is a very controversial item in the fashion world - not just because of the animal-related aspect, but also because it a sensitive item that can go bad pretty quickly. This is why it's always great when you see fur coat done well, such as this one from the 87MM collection.

Not only is the fur coat great, but we also enjoyed the styling of this look: it's a fine example of how you can wear two necklaces at the same time: be sure they are of different lengths!

J Koo, a brand known for its fine separates inspired by British men's tailoring offered a playful layering of textures for the fall-winter 2016-17 season. We especially liked this look, as it featured interesting details done in a subdued way.

The Beyond Closet fall 2016 menswear looks were inspired by the concept of bromance, or a boys' nigh out in Seoul. This dusty velvet jacket and the shiny blue pants are a great reflection of the notion of being dressy, but fun and energetic.

This urban look is part of the R. Shemiste fw collection, which drew its inspiration from the 19 th and 20 th century anarchist Emma Goldman, who has what was called an "independent and tough femininity". We really enjoyed discovering how this idea was translated in menswear, through grunge streetwear clothes and accessories.

The 2015-launched YCH brand has presented so far a playful and punk aesthetic that freely mixes colors and bold prints. Their inspiration for the fall 2016 season was all the different types of queens, from Queen Elizabeth to Queen logo sweatshirts.

With this fur coat, we not only spot a trend in Korean menswear, but also the brand's aesthetic, as it comes out through the piece's look and feel.

For their 12 th runway show, label Pushbutton dreamt up an "upside down, inside out" mix of high and low pieces. Designer Seung Gun Park played with very high end, but over the top pieces, as well as with streetwear, that resulted in a strange combination that makes you look twice.

Korean label Kye looked back to the 90 when they designed their fall-winter 2016 collection. The looks were urban chic and conveyed a certain dynamism and power that came through the beats of the 1990s boom boxes. It was a rock concert vibe mixed with a playful flair.

There were a lot of great clothes and accessories that came out of Seoul for the fall-winter 2016 season. We're always excited to discover new, innovative and fun fashions and to share them with you for a continuous style experience. Keeping your eyes looking is essential for an elegantologist who is always looking for the next things that needs to be seen and, why not, worn?
