The best gifts for wedding anniversaries

Each year of marriage is associated with a specific item, colour, and flower. These traditions are an excellent guide when it comes to shopping for your spouse. No matter how many years you have been together, your wedding anniversary should always be celebrated with love.

If you are celebrating your first year of marriage, you will be interested to know that it is associated with paper and the colour yellow. Send your spouse a bright yellow bouquet and make sure that you include a special note. If you are strapped for cash, this gift covers all the bases and you don't have to worry about overspending. If you have some extra money to spend, you can really embrace the paper gift by purchasing tickets. They can be plane tickets, concert tickets, or even vouchers for a couples' massage. Think about something you can enjoy together.

For the second year, the colour is red and the gift is cotton. A red bouquet is certainly in order and nothing says romance more than a bunch of red roses! As for cotton, you can buy some luxurious new linens or something for your spouse to wear (made of cotton of course).

The third year is associated with leather and the colour white. So, how about a white bouquet of flowers and something leather like a jacket, belt, purse, or even a stylish pair of shoes? This is one of the most practical years of marriage yet!

As for the fourth year, the traditional colour is blue and the gift is fruit and flowers. Now you really have plenty of options! You can send a blue bouquet or at least a bouquet that includes blue flowers. Or you could send a romantic bouquet and choose any other gift that includes something blue. It could be an item of clothing or even an accessory.

These are just some examples of how you can include flowers in your anniversary celebrations. Don't forget to spend time together and relight that fire each year so that you may enjoy many more happy years together!
