The Beer Café Opens Its Flagship Outlet – BIGGIE, in Connaught Place, New Delhi

Terrace BiggieDelhi, February 15, 2014: The Beer Café, India’s largest beer café chain has been on a quite a journey since its first outlet started pouring 2 years back.  On Saturday, 15th of February 2014, the company launched its flagship store in the heart of Connaught Place, India’s most revered shopping neighborhood.

his is the newest and boldest ever initiative by The Beer Café. Taking the inspiration from the building, which was built in the 1930’s, the industrial design idiom draws a sharp contrast in a contemporary setup. This outlet is a fusion of traditional carpentry and masonry infused with modern furniture and a maze of ironwork.

A first of its kind, 16 beer chillers are double decked which chills more than 3,200 bottles at any given time. There is a draft Beer Wall where patrons can go and pour their own beer using RFID cards. Spread across three levels, there is ample indoor and outdoor seating with great views of the inner circle park.

The entire place is emphasized around the concept of big; from the lavish menu, glassware, and food portions to the caricatures on the walls.

The launch party of BIGGIE was witnessed by a swish crowd listening aptly to a powerful college rock performance by the band “Classic Collective”, followed by an enthralling evening of music, soul food and beers!

The evening also marked the launch of 2 new beers in the country. Irish Magners Cider is crafted in Ireland using the fresh juice from 17 varieties of apple. Honoring William Magner’s Original recipe perfected since 1935, Magners is patiently vat matured to create the unique, refreshing taste of the world’s top selling Irish Cider. Carling- Easy drinking lager brewed with Canadian 2-row barley. In existence for over 150 years, the Carling name has been synonym with quality brewing since 1840.

Also joining in the ‘BIG’ festivities was, José Hevia,CEO of DraftServ, USA. DraftServ created the Pour Your Own Beer technique, pioneered in India by the The Beer Café. The BIGGIE will have an enhanced PYOB system by adapting it to newer technology and cloud computing.
