Tell us a little bit about yourself and your blog!
I’m Laura! I live in Sydney and am a beauty school graduate! The Glowing Skin Girl is all about skin care, beauty and reviews. My blog started because I just wanted to share my beauty and skin care knowledge with everyone! I love beauty, I love talking about it and I just love helping people achieve their beauty and skin care objectives – I couldn’t help it, I just needed to blog about it!
Your one piece of beauty blogging advice to those just starting out.
Be passionate! Blogging is time consuming – so there’s no room for mediocre topics that not even you are interested in. It can take up every spare minute if you let it – but if you love it, who cares – you’re doing what you love! Furthermore, if you love what you’re writing about – it will come across in your writing and your readers will love you for it.
Your everyday makeup routine.
I’m all about keeping it simple – a mineral powder foundation, blush, a pop of lip color and I’m done! I try to get as much help as I can from lash and brow tints (being a natural blonde) so I can often skip out on eye make-up.
Your ‘Holy Grail’ beauty product.
I’m an avid skincare obsessive – so choosing one product is sooo hard! My holy grail beauty product would have to be mineral foundation as it contains ingredients like titanium dioxide and zinc oxide that act as physical sun barriers – assisting in prevention of sun damage to the skin and complements my skin care routine. Furthermore, mineral makeup is more suitable for sensitive skin (like mine!) over conventional makeup due to those ingredients that are left out that can irritate the skin. At the moment my favorite mineral foundation is Elizabeth Arden Pro Perfecting Minerals SPF – the light application and great coverage makes the everyday look effortless every time!
What takes up most of your time outside blogging?
Outside of blogging, I’m most likely studying aromatherapy (I love how amazing the effects of aromatherapy on the body are!), investigating professional beauty treatments, going to the beach and hanging with my partner and family!
Your celebrity crush.
Man crush? Hands down – Joe Manganiello(!!). Overall celeb crush? Julia Roberts – I’ve loved her since having first ever seen Pretty Woman and haven’t looked back since!
