It looks like we’ll be getting more Girl Power on the small screen..
The Baby Sitters Club series is looking to return to television, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The series is from the young-adult book series from author Ann M. Martin. The overall theme of the show is entrepreneurialism, female empowerment, diversity, and female friendships.
Episodes will deal with topics from the books such as racism, divorce and belonging while tackling issues facing teens today.
Walden Media and Michael De Luca will be producing the modernized version as half-hour episodes. Each of the characters from the book is expected to appear in the TV adaptation. There was an earlier Baby-Sitters Club TV series from Scholastic that aired in the early ’90s on HBO. There was also a 1995 Baby-Sitters Club movie.
This will be good for our young girls!!
