The Adventure Podcast Episode 80: Adventure News, Gear Reviews, and a Visit to Jordan

Posted on the 16 October 2019 by Kungfujedi @Kungfujedi

After yet another week off last week, The Adventure Podcast is back this week with a new episode. This time out my co-host Dave Adlard and I talk about my recent visit to the country of Jordan, discussing such highlights as going canyoneering, floating in the Dead Sea, and exploring the desert of Wadi Rum by 4×4. Of course, no visit to Jordan is complete without stopping by the amazing lost city of Petra, which we discuss at some length as well.

Before we jump into those topics however, we first get listeners caught up on the latest news from the world of outdoor adventure and exploration. That includes the latest from the autumn climbing season in the Himalaya, and update on Mike Horn and Borge Ousland's journey to the North Pole, and a six-year old who is believed to be the youngest girl to ever hike the length of the Appalachian Trail. Later, Dave and I share our gear picks for the week, sharing our thoughts on a new retro-styled backpack and a high-tech pocket translator called Jarvisen that is great for frequent travelers.

As is usual, you'll find the full episode embedded in this post below. You can also listen and subscribe on Apple Podcasts,Google Play,, and too, so you'll never miss a show. Send your comments, questions, suggestions, and other feedback directly to us via and , or you can simply us with your thoughts.

As always, thanks for listening. We appreciate you tuning in!
