Have you ever seen a horse pulling a cart? You probably have, but did you know horses are not the only creatures on this earth that can do that. In fact, there are some pretty unusual animal that can pull carts and if I am honest if there weren't pictures of them doing it, I wouldn't have believed it!

While it would be fun to be pulled around by goats all day long I would imagine they stop and munch on everything making the journey take a very long time.

Zebras are little more than horses in pyjamas so I suppose it makes sense they would be good at pulling a cart. Unless those are little more than painted horses.

You will need a big dog to pull a cart with a human on and this is a very big dog indeed. Knowing how fast my own dog can run I would imagine this goes very fast indeed.

Back in the 1800 people often used all sorts of farm animals to pull carts and a big pig was perfect for a cart ride with the little ones. I just hope he didn't start rolling in the mud.

If you want to live on the dangerous side of life you could always get pulled around by a lion! Zoo rides back in the early 1900s were a little riskier than today's ones.

If you want raw power you can do far worse than take a cart ride with two buffalo. But I do know buffalo are quite grumpy and will run off when annoyed.

No, this isn't a Photoshop image, once upon a time the rules around the exploitation of animals were a little more...relaxed then they are today. I think this would have been a very slow ride indeed.

Knowing the top speed of an Ostrich which is 70 km/h (45 mph) I can only imagine this is a very fast ride indeed. Until it stops, turns around and tries to peck your eyes out that is.

Once again taken in the early 1900s when zoo rides were a lot more...risky. While it is sad to see this image, it is good to know things have changed for the better, especially when it comes to the use of animals for entertainment.

If you like your cart pulling animals to have a lot more prance you might want to consider getting a llama to pull your cart. They are nice and strong but might spit at you every few miles.
