This week I've eaten too many burgers and spent my time exploring the North East, visiting new places and going back to some old favourites.
After running 10k last Sunday, you'd probably think the last thing I'd want to do would be more exercise. Obviously not, as I went along to Roseberry Topping on Monday, to climb up the hill. In hindsight, the bank holiday wasn't the best day for it as everyone and their dog (literally) were there, though it was a nice walk and view from the top.
Before heading back we went into Yarm to visit The Purple Pig and although Fat Hippo are still top of my list for burgers, these were a very close second. They're opening one in Darlington in June apparently, so that's something to look out for! I definitely want to go back, whether it's the one in Yarm or Middlesbrough or on a day trip to Harrogate or Hull.
On Tuesday I was very excited to attend a blogger event in Fenwick Newcastle to celebrate the launch of #fenwickbeautyweek. I had a serious pamper evening with a Jo Malone hand and arm massage, Laura Mercier foundation and a lovely chat about lipsticks with YSL manager, Lucy. There'll be a full post up early next week so look out for that if you want to get some treats too, as I may have something special to share!
This week I've also had a trip to Leeds for a work conference; where I discovered the absolute joy that is shopping in Victoria's Secret before heading for my train home. If any of you have bought from their website, have you had issues with import tax? I had a cocktail that looked like a coconut and one with a twister lolly in and I've completed rekindled my love for them (the lollies that is) and had more yesterday after a trip to Tynemouth Food Festival, eating Fat Hippo burgers, Zapatista burritos and trying all the tasters we could find!
On Hello Freckles this week, I shared my afternoon tea experience at St Mary's Inn earlier this week and my very exciting post all about Dorothy Perkins' #DPDressesTheNation campaign.
Hope you've had a great week. What did you get up to?
