Stitch-y, Teach-y, Book-y, Award-y, Sick-y, Busy, All the “y”s of My Life. I’m So Punn-y…

By Crossstitchyourheart @TMNienaber

Alright, I’ll admit it, I got a little overzealous with my blog title.  I figure posting once a week means I need to come up with some pretty epic titles for the posts I do make and got a little overboard thinking up this one.  Oh well.  Maybe it’ll interest you or bring a smile to your face from sheer lameness.  Who knows.  It certainly makes me giggle.

I’ll start with the “Award-y” part of my post and give a shout out to the fabulous Clair who nominated me for the Wonderful Team Member Readership Award.  I’m not really sure what this award is for (I guess just for being an awesome blog reader/commenter? Which I haven’t been doing much of recently).  But here are the rules:

1.The Nominee of the Wonderful Team member Readership Award shall display the logo on his/her blog. (It’s in my about page with the other award logos)
2.The Nominee shall nominate 14 readers they appreciate over a period of 7 days, all at once or little by little.
3.The Nominee shall name his/her Wonderful Team Member Readership Award nominees on a post or on posts during 7 days.

Now.  I’ll be totally honest with you.  I think anyone who takes the time to come to my blog, read this post, and comment on it are pretty awesome so I’m going to do my nominations a little differently.  If you’d like to be nominated for this award just post a comment in the comment section saying something like “I’m a wonderful reader” and I’ll post a link to your page next week/the next time I have time to post.  (And yes, this is really due to sheer laziness on my point to come up with 14 links now).

So, I think the teach-y, book-y, and busy parts of title are all pretty self-explanatory.  I’m still student-teaching (successfully I hope), still reading (although at a frustratingly slower pace than usual), and I’m busy (like all of us crafty bloggers are).  I did manage to pick up a sick-y in there to, thanks to teaching about 130 kids a day the germs are bound to get through eventually.  Although I’ve been told the first cold is the worst and after that teacher-immunity kicks in and I’ll never be sick again.  I look forward to that day.  After taking last night off work and sleeping for 12 hours I’m feeling much improved.

Now on to the stitch-y part.

more black background

Almost finished with the bottom half of the pattern.  Just one more page to go!  Still feel like things are moving painfully slow though, at least it’s looking like something now though.  I’m still frustrated with how little time I have to devote to things other than work and student-teaching.  On the bright side when I get my first teaching job I’ll be amazed at all the free time I have.  And the madness only lasts until Decemeber and then everything settles down and real life begins.

Stitch-y, Teach-y, Book-y, Award-y, Sick-y, Busy, all the “y”s of my life. I’m so punn-y…

close up of the finished section

Here’s a close up of the finished section.  As you can see there are a lot of black little x’s that go into the making of this project and a lot more to go.  I’m still confused as to why this kit came with a white aida cloth instead of something darker.  With as much effort as I have to give with the background I’d like to not have to worry about the cloth showing through so much.  Still,  I like all the different yellows and oranges that go into the lights/stars/whatever they’re supposed to be.

I’m a little concerned about how I’m going to get all my Christmas stitching done if pacing keeps going this slow.  Still planning to start in November though, so we’ll just see how things go from then.  Might have to scale back my Christmas plans.  Although graduation is December 14th so that gives me 10 days before things have to be done for Christmas.  I can do a lot with ten days and only one job to work.

Hope you all are having a good weekend.  I’ve been reading “The Book Thief” which I love, can’t wait to tell you all how it is!  Well, I’ll be back again next week (hopefully I’ll be doing better keeping up with your blogs than I have been.  I miss reading everyone’s updates.  I’m making that my goal for this week though, to keep up with emails and blogs).
