Sponsorship in the Local Community of Dartford Kent

Posted on the 10 May 2013 by Rtswaste @Rtswaste

RTS Waste has been a major sponsor for the Dartfordians Rugby Club for the third year running and proud of their results this season.

Summary of the season:   Dartfordians season has gone from strength to strength from U6s through to the 4th XV throughout the 2012/13 season. The 1st XV had a good pre season and traveled to newly promoted Kings College Hospital with Darts one of the favourites to gain promotion into London SE 3. However on the day KCH had other ideas and ran out convincing winners. Since that day Darts 1s have only had a few off days and now need to win just one of the last two games to gain automatic promotion. Some really good rugby has seen them beating Hastings & Bexhill 49 – 0, Gravesendians 47 – 0 and Shootershillians 100 – 10. The 4th XV had won their league by Christmas and the 2s and Angels (3s) currently sit top of their leagues. This has been an incredibly successful season so far for the seniors as they look to close out the last few weeks, with an elongated season due to the poor weather having an impact….The 1st XV will also be playing in the Kent Salver Final on April 28th at Ashford RFC.   The Junior club has had a great season also, with many club members representing Kent and a recently departed player to Blackheath representing England U18s Clubs & Schools. The U14s, 16s and 18s are all in Kent Finals still due to be played and the Minis Kent Festivals still to take place – again postponed due to the weather….Finals are on April 28th…   Many sides have been on tour with the Seniors in Bath over Easter and the U16s/U17s travelling abroad for their rugby….The Vets will be off to Bordeaux in November for their usual weekend in France….Talking of the French, old friends AOC Libournais came to Darts the day before England beat France and continued a long history of friendship, with another great day at the Club…..   It's been a good season off the pitch with the much awaited building development finally getting under way and should be completed by October 2013. A gym and new changing rooms will ensure the club has a facility that will cater for the future plans and ensure we provide the best for our members…. Xmas saw the usual Coaches Evening and Dec 22nd saw 120 members sitting down over two sessions for Christmas dinner…. Various other fund raising events have been held and the club also saw good numbers join the throng to watch the Six Nations. There have also been 3 really successful pre match lunches with the final one due on April 13th ahead of the home re-match versus Kings College Hospital….. The postponed Junior Club Presentation is likely to take place on May 12th and the Annual Club Supper will be at the Club on May 10th…..   All in all, a really great season, but some really important matches to close out and maintain the success rate into the Summer….
