Findmypast is an internet based service which helps you locate and trace the lives of your ancestors. For more than 10 years the online company has helped thousands of people rebuild their genealogical trees and often find family members around the world. The UK based enterprise was the winner of the Queen’s Award for Innovation for being able for the first time ever to have access and provide full details of birth, marriage and death of people in England. Since then, Findmypast broadened the database extending it to other countries such as Ireland, Australia and Usa. From private company it nearly became an institution; teaming up with the British Library, in order to safeguard the future of information, it offers today and extensive world’s newspaper archive too.
This weekend only Findmypast launches the Remembrance Weekend in which, most of the great collection will be available for free to users to learn more about their family history. Besides live broadcasts will be held today featuring a panel of experts in history and genealogy.
