Seven bands paying tribute to legendary alternative rockers Guided By Voices. Songs In The Key Of Bob features seven songs and is penciled in for an April 30th release, coinciding with the new Guided By Voices album, English Little League.
It all began in a dusty library warehouse in Charlottesville,, VA, in 2011. Adam Brock (The Invisible Hand) found a stack of GBV singles and decided tit would be a cool idea to write a song channeling the sound the Dayton, OH, band. That got the ball rolling and six other bands joined the fun, following two simple rules: two minutes max and "using a four or eight track cassette recorder, in order to truly capture the GBV aesthetic".
Songs In The Key Of Bob - Under The Influence of Guided By Voices will be available through Hibernator Gigs Records as a limited run 7" (300 copies) on blue vinyl, pressed by Musicol in Columbus, OH - where many of the original Guided By Voices singles were made. Cover art by Thomas Dean.
