Upstart singer-songwriter, S.G. Goodman serves up a bluesy song of the day with "The Way I Talk". The Western Kentucky native just signed a recording contract with Verve Forecast and "The Way I Talk" is Goodman's debut song off her debut album Old Time Feeling due out May 29, 2020.
Goodman was raised in Western Kentucky on the Mississippi River Delta, in a family of church-going row crop farmers. She explores the plight of the rural working class in "The Way I Talk," which is riddled with biblical references and Southern imagery.
She'll continue to explore the complexities of her upbringing on her upcoming debut album which includes songs about mental health, living with OCD, her identity as a gay woman and how she has reconciled her social and political views with those of her hometown community.
