Russian authorities have granted NSA leaker, Edward Snowden,, temporary political asylum, finally allowing him to leave the Moscow airport's transit location after being stuck in limbo there for more than a month.
Snowden was unable to leave the Moscow airport due to a lack of travel papers after the U.S. revoked his passport and charged him with espionage for blowing the whistle on the Obama administration's expansion of domestic spying and providing documents to prove a high level of International spying.
According to Snowden's attorney, Anatoly Kucherena, the documents were issued on Thursday and will allow Snowden to live and work in Russia for a year while his permanent asylum application is pending.
I have just seen him off. He has left for a secure location,” Kucherena told the state broadcaster Russia 24.
