It’s time, once again, for our weekly collection of three stellar bands you should be listening to. Get their tracks for free and enjoy the gorgeous pop sound.

Slow Club recently released their new full-length Paradise. To promote the album, the boy-girl duo from England created videos for the first two singles on Youtube, and judging from these, Paradise is one to look forward to. “Where I’m Waking” features a gorgeous lead vocal from Rebecca Taylor, singing an oh-so-identifiable sad love song. The track itself features some tricky time signaturesand time changes combined with a healthy dose of rocking out. “Two Cousins” is more of a ballad and is equally engaging as Taylor truly belts out the vocals.

All My Friends – The Bilinda Butchers

The Bilinda Butchers have also just released an EP on their Bandcamp, which is available for a “pay what you wish” deal. It’s truly worth the donation and is full of lush, make you sob, beautiful pop songs. I first heard of the band through the Beko Digital Single label. Each Monday this label puts out a free slice of music, with different formats for different styles (LPs, Singles, Cassettes, etc.). The Bilinda Butchers recently put out 2 songs not available on their EP as Beko Single 93 and quite a long time ago put out Beko Single 14 which features an earlier version of a song from their EP and a Pains of Being Pure at Heart cover. Both are worth the search, and Beko is one of the bright spots in the music landscape right now.

These projects are both the work of Alex Drum – Whales a solo effort and The Magic of Multiples a writing collaboration between Sean McCausland and him. They share a very similar lo-fi bedroom pop sound and are incredibly intimate and personal. The newest release from April of this year is a Magic of Multiples two track, featuring the bouncy lead “Fuck a May Flower”. “Womb to Womb” features a more up front lead vocal and a bit less instrumentation. It’s truly a folkier number which serves the emotional, personal songwriting. Both are free, as is all of their music, on Bandcamp.
