Since 1978, The Family Place has counseled more than 225,000 clients in residential and outreach programs. In addition, the agency has provided life-saving shelter to more than 22,000 women and children and has answered more than 550,000 calls for help. Over the past 23 years, Partners Card has become the largest fundraiser for The Family Place and is one of the most popular shopping events in the Dallas Metroplex. On May 11th, The Family Place, Partners Card Co-chairs Elizabeth Dacus, Jane Rozelle and Samantha Wortley, and Honorary Chair Lisa Cooley kicked off Partners Card, presented by Bank of Texas at “The Alley” at Galleria Dallas. The 2016 theme, Shop Like a Hero, reassures shoppers they are helping stop the cycle of domestic violence. Attendees snapped photos with Superman and Wonder Woman as The Grill on the Alley passed hors d’oeuvres and cocktails provided by Austin Cocktails, and DJ Jennifer Miller entertained. Shop Like a Hero coloring pages and a photo booth with masks and superhero props offered additional entertainment for guests while models presented clothing from participating Partners Card retailers. A raffle drawing also offered a fun incentive with prizes like stoneware from Le Creuset, a handbag from Brahmin and a Tommy Bahama vacation package including beach towels, bag, and chair.
