In just hours, Serena Williams will be stepping onto the grass courts of the All England Club in Wimbledon on a mission to secure her 24th Grand Slam title. To mark the occasion, NikeCourt has designed just for her, a stunning sweater-knit white dress adorned with a good luck charm of sorts, a Swoosh brooch made with Swarovski ® crystals.
Nicknamed "the Broosh" ( a combination of the words swoosh and brooch), the accessory was created with Williams in mind, inspired by decorative jewelry from past generations.
According to Abby Swancutt, the Global Design Director for NikeCourt:
I also wanted her to feel like it was something her grandmother could have worn, but of course give it a modern spin and make it just right for Serena.
Nike previewed just a small piece of the dress, featuring the golden emblem, embedded with 34 crystals - which is no random number; it's Serena's age when she won her last Wimbledon in 2016.
What a fitting tribute for the great Serena Williams, don't you agree?
