Review/Swatches: Etude House Berry Delicious Fantastic Color Eyes in Strawberry Mojito and Strawberry Fondue

By Beautifulbuns

Don’t you just love Spring/Summer season of each year? I know, I know, it doesn’t make much of a difference since I live in Singapore where it’s summer all year round, but I’m talking from a beauty junkie’s point of view. ‘Tis the season for the launch of new makeup items, and they’re always so pretty and colourful! Etude House, known for its cutesy princessy items, has launched a Berry Delicious range for this season, and the eyeshadow palettes are so adorably named Strawberry Mojito and Strawberry Fondue. Yummeh~!

I say…

The Packaging: There’s only one word to describe this – CUTE with tonnes of pink and red and accompanying cutesy motifs on the plastic cover. Considering it holds 6 colours, it’s a pretty compact size of 9cm x 5cm x 1.2cm tall. Each color is about 2.5cm x 1.3cm though – just enough for me to fit my index finger in and move it around to pick up color for the swatching. It comes with a double-ended sponge tip applicator (although I would have much preferred 2 applicators.Maybe it’s just me, but I like using one side of the tip for one color (so that the colours don’t mix/stain each other). Simple math: 6 colours / 4 sides = 2 colours will be left out. Ah well.

The Scent: I was secretly hoping for this to be berry scented too, but after lots of intense sniffing, there wasn’t any scent.

The Texture: The power grains of the non-shimmery (matte) colours are pretty fine and adhere rather closely to the skin. For the shimmery ones, the grains are slightly larger and a bit coarser but it just means that the shimmer/reflection is brighter.

The Verdict: Now I’m not usually a pink eyeshadow girl – but I daresay this palette is pretty wearable. At S$19.90 each, you get 6 colours to play with, and the plus point is that it comes in the super adorbs casing. The eyeshadows themselves are pretty decent – they are relatively finely-grained, have medium levels of pigmentation, and last about 4-6 hours before succumbing to the oil fields that are my eyelids (which I would say is a pretty decent timing). In any case, it’s also a good palette for those who’ve been thinking of experimenting with the pinks. The pinks are wearable and the price is so affordable – there’s really no reason why you should say no to this palette (unless you already own 10 other palettes). Available in Singapore at all Etude House outlets from 4 March onwards, along with the rest of the Berry Delicious collection.
