In honor of Tous Restaurant Week, September 16-22, which like the American versions, has fixed menus but where one gets one meal free for everyone paid for, lunch and dinner, Alice Bosio of Figaroscope lists some of the 1000 participating restaurants (reservations could be made on line starting at 10 AM Monday September 9th.)
The Tables d’exception are:
Le Jules Verne
Lasserre
Le Royal Monceau
The “gastros” are:
Le Sur-Mesure
Helene Darroze
Guy Savoy
The Bistros-Brasseries:
Flottes
Aux Lyonnais
Le Chardenoux des Pres
L’Assiette
Monday-Tuesday, Philippe Toinard, in A Nous Paris, reviewed and gave 3/5 dots to Le Beaujolais d’Auteuil, 99 blvd de Montmorency in the 16th, 01.47.43.03.56, open 7/7, costing 35-50 (having abandoned its famous 25.50 E (with wine) menu, changed chefs and owners) offers one eggs mayo, cod and a soup of strawberries; while Jerome Berger gave the same to the Italian Professore in the 9th
Tuesday, in Le Fooding, Yves Nespoulous reviewed Eric Frechon’s Lazare in the Gare of the same name, 01.44.90.80.80, open 7/7, seating 110 and expecting to serve 450,000 persons a day with items such as céleri rémoulade, Saint-Vaast oysters, gambas, sole and a Paris-Deauville dessert for 29-76 (plat du jour 18 E.)
Wednesday, in Figaroscope, Emmanuel Rubin reviewed his usual five new restaurants: giving 2 hearts to 4 places: Allard (now under Ducasse’s shield), address well-known, where he says to warn your bank because the bill will come to 60-100 E per person; the Japanese Kunitoraya which just moved up the same street, Grillé coordinates already given here and Le Fourbi, 25bis rue Duvivier in the 7th, 01.45.50.11.03, open dinners from Tuesday to Saturdays for tapas (20 E for 4 and 35 E for 7). A pizza and fish n chips/type place, Bliss, in the 1st, got a busted heart.
In addition, Francois Simon had an article on the aforementioned Lazare, giving somewhat lower prices (25-50 E) than Le Fooding.
And Francois Simon for his Hache Menu went back to the reopened L’Ourcine where he complained about the forced seating at 7:30 or 9:00 PM.
Thursday, Mina Soundiram in L’Express suggested 4 for fish n chips: The Sunken Chip, Dessirier, Frenchie to go and Edgar, Charles Patin O'Coohoon covered Meli Melo in Narbonne and Les Balètis in Montaurban and Francois-Regis Gaudry concludes that the transition from Michel Troisgros to Julien Roucheteau at the Lancaster has gone smoothly.
