Review: Skinfood Freshmade Lemon Mask | Wash off Type

I bought this mask along with my Skinfood Freshmade Apple Mask (reviewed). But after seeing the results of Apple mask, and an other mask from Skinfood, I kept the lemon mask aside from my testing list. But lately my face has been looking dull and the other day I had a night out with my girlfriends, so I searched for some temporary brightening products in my skincare stash and this Lemon mask popped up!I decided to give this mask a try, and used it. Continue reading to know what results this mask gave me..

First of all, I liked the way Skinfood honestly claimed about the lemon mask that it gives only temporary effect. The packaging of the mask is same as all the masks from the Freshmade line. It comes in a plastic jar with a screw lid. No spatula is provided. The mask has slight yellowish green tint but looks almost clear, and consistency is like gel. Yes, it smells like lemonade but not overwhelming.

I scooped about a teaspoon of mask, and applied it on my freshly cleansed face. I massaged the gel for a couple of minutes. It felt cool while massaging, and does not feel sticky. Also the scent does not linger and faded quickly. I left the mask on my face for 15 to 20 minutes. All the while the mask is on my face I feel the cooling sensation on my skin. Then I washed off the mask with lukewarm water.

So did it brighten my skin? Yes! My face looked bright and fresh after washing. There is a glow in my skin that made my dullness go away instantly. My face looked bright all night, though it came back to its original state by morning which might be because the mask effects have gone or due to lack of sleep. To test how long the brightness lasts, I tried this mask again after a couple of days in the morning routine (I stayed indoors all day on that day), and I find the brightness lasted for about 4 to 5 hours only. Since I am not expecting any life changing results from this mask, and at least it lived up to its claims regarding the temporary brightness, I would say I am happy with the product.
