Review: Kiss Me Heroine Make Impact Liquid Eyeliner Super Waterproof Black (new Packaging)

By Beautifulbuns

I have pretty high standards when it comes to eyeliners – blame it on the terribly oily eyelids :( So far, the eyeliners that have stood up to the test is Etude House’s Oh M’Eye Line eyeliner, The Face Shop Face It Maxx’ Eye Twinkle Pen Liner & The Saem Eco Soul Waterproof Push Liner. Will this ascend to the top as well?

I say…

The Packaging: It comes in a slim tube with bevelled surface i.e. it’s not smooth cylindrical and has some angles, (kinda like an octagon), so it gives some friction/grip when you try to open it. Props to the brand for this :D That aside, the cap is a twist-open one that is attached to the brush liner applicator. It’s very soft and pliable which has its pros and cons. (see below)

The Application: Because the brush liner applicator is so soft, it isn’t abrasive and doesn’t pull against the skin; in fact, you can barely feel it against the lid. On the other hand, it can be a little difficult for liquid liner amateurs to manouveure cos it’s really flexible / hard to control. That aside, the black is super intense (one layer is enough), and it doesn’t feather out much. However, make sure that you shake the product well before usage – if you don’t, the black will not be that intense (i.e. a little watery/not mixed well enough). As with most liquid liners, be also sure to give it like 5-10 seconds to dry and set, and then it’ll be mostly smudge-proof and rub-proof.

The Verdict: This actually held up pretty well – yes it ended up being eroded away from the oil from the eyelids after about 6 hours, but the oil smudges weren’t that panda-bad (just minor smudges on the undereye). It’s still a pretty decent feat compared with other liners I’ve tried. I also love that it’s so black with just one layer – multiple layers don’t cake nor feather much if I want to build it for a more intense night look. Overall, a pretty decent eyeliner for those looking to up their eyeliner skill levels, or with eyelids that excrete medium-level oils.
