Review: Himalaya Anti Hair Fall Range – #4FabulousHair

By Rashmi Gopal Rao

One of the most common hair problems we face today, irrespective of age, gender or season is that of hair loss.  Arguably one of the most agonizing problems, this is something so stressful that it could give me nightmares.   The use of natual remedies like coconut oil, ayurvedic herbs, essential oils etc go a long way in preventing hair loss while protecting your hair.  The disadvantage of many of the hair care products available in the market today are that they are full of  harsh chemicals that can potentially do more harm than repair or nourish the hair.

So when a trusted brand like Himalaya came up with a complete range of anti hair fall products, I was naturally delighted. A household name since 1930, the foundation of Himalaya’s products is the use of modern science to create pharmaceutical-grade ayurvedic products. Their pathbreaking research has successfully converted our rich legacy of Ayurveda into a holistic range of proprietary formulations.  Designed for health living and longevity, I have always been a fan and consumer of Himalaya products.  Given that they are rich in ingredients that are pure and natural, Himalaya is a brand I trun to when it comes to personal grooming.

Here is a look at their anti hair fall kit that consists of a shampoo, conditioner, hair oil and hair cream.

Himalaya Anti Hair Fall Shampoo
It is a perfect panacea for not only reducing hair fall but also enhances its beauty by providing nourishment to the hair shafts. It has the goodness of herbs like Butea Frondosa (also called flame of the forest) and Bhringaraja that stimulate hair follicle growth and are effective in strengthening hair roots. Available in pack sizes of 100ml, 200ml, 400ml and 700ml, the shampoo is effective for all hair types including colored and also permed hair.

What I loved about the product: After using the shampoo, I could feel a visible improvement in the texture as it left the hair soft and shiny. The best part is the inclusion of Bhringaraja as a key ingredient which has been a remedy for hair growth since time immemorial.

Himalaya Anti-Hair Fall Conditioner
Coupled with the anti hair fall shampoo comes the conditioner that helps strengthen and nourish your hair after wash. In addition to protein-rich herbs like Bringaraja, the conditioner also has Chickpea that stimulates hair growth and strengthens the strands. A perfect enhancer for the shampoo, this is available in sizes of 100 ml and 200 ml and can be used on colored and permed hair too.

What I loved about the product: It is a perfect add on to the shampoo and complements its goodness. Having used it, my hair felt not only softer and nourished but also had a sheen that stayed for long. The subtel frangrance is yet another positive.

Anti-Hair Fall Cream
Yet another product designed to reduce hair fall and increase hair growth, the hair fall cream is designed for daily use. With a pleasing frangrance, the cream has essential herbs like Bhringaraja and Amla. The latter is a rich source of Vitamin C and polyphenol that not only promotes hair growth but also maintains hair color and prevents early greying. Available in a 100 ml pack, it is safe to use on colored and permed hair.

What I loved about the product: The cream is light and non greasy and is a great way to set your hair once you wash it. Just apply on wet hair, massage it into your scalp and a quick comb will make your hair look happy and healthy!

Anti-Hair Fall Oil

A staple for any hair care kit, hair oil is a must when it comes to nourishing and strengthening your hair. This oil from Himalaya is especially effective as it contains Bhringaraja that is rich in phytochemicals like eclalbosaponins and wedelolactone as well as Amalaki which is a natural hair tonic. Both of these go a long way in facilitating hair growth as well as providing nourishment to the hair root. It improves hair and scalp health and also strengthens hair follicles.
What I loved about the product: It is again a non sticky oil that is sure to protect your hair against any harsh conditions. While on the pack, it says that you can apply it for an hour and wash it, I have left it much longer and the hair felt softer and moist. Amalaki is a well known and trusted ingredient and has been an essential for hair care in Ayurveda since time immemorial.

So with so much on offer, grab your set of the Himalaya Anti Hair Fall products and say good bye to hair fall and bad hair days!
