Review: GlamGlow YouthCleanse Daily Exfoliating Cleanser

By Beautifulbuns

Ohhh man. I’m not sure what I’m coming down with, but I’ve recently been slightly out of sorts – I’m so lethargicccc. I’m guessing it’s because my energy has been sapped by the continuous begging of votes for the Best Beauty Blog contest. Zzzzz. So NOT joining it next year (which means I’m counting on you guys to help me win something this year! Just 1 vote a day will be fine~ pretty pleaseeeee?)

Anyhoos, here’s one product I’ve been trying out for the past week, and I’m quite liking it!

I say…

The Packaging: A tall, plastic bottle with a pump dispensal system. It’s hygienic and easy to use, and the recommended amount is 2-3 pumps onto the fingertips to be spread onto the entire dry face.

The Texture: It’s a rich creamy mud (?) or even a super thick cream with microbeads for exfoliation (a slightly more watered-down consistency of the GlamGlow Tinglexfoliate mask) It becomes less thick in consistency once you start massaging it with wet fingers, and it becomes slightly foamy (although not as superbly foamy as normal facial cleansers).

The Application: Now when spreading across your face, be sure to have enough product and also be sure to be gentle, cos those beads (when not moistened with water) can be rather abrasive on dry skin. Make sure to have 3 pumps as a minimum for the entire face or else there won’t be enough product to go around smoothly (aka slight skin pulling). I don’t really spread it till every cm of my face is covered (cos that’ll require a lot of product), but I just a good 50-70% coverage before I start massaging with wet fingers. It starts foaming slightly, but don’t expect a mini foam party on the face. It goes into a nice lather and you can feel the exfoliating beads working their way into the skin (so be gentle). Once you’re done, rinse off.

The Verdict: The skin is left looking significantly cleansed (no joke – my skin actually looks oh so ever slightly fairer). There’s not tight/taut after feeling, but the skin feels very much cleaner. The surface of the skin is also slightly smoother. I’d recommend using this after you get back from work/school/a long day out – it cleanses very thoroughly (vs a usual gentle cleanser) and helps exfoliate the skin as well. It doesn’t require (and also should not be used with) a Clarisonic due to its beads, so it’s great for days when I am too lazy to patiently stand there with a Clarisonic but still want a rather thorough cleanse. I haven’t had any outbreaks either, so I will defo continue using it. I’d say use this every other day (simply cos the beads aren’t the super fine types). -grudging nod- not bad indeedy. :D
