My thoughts:
There is something about this series that makes me love reading it every single time. The quaintness of Snowflake, Vermont and the characters are what keep drawing me into this series. I literally was on the edge of my seat trying to solve this one and everyone knows that is what makes me a happy reader. I love the new feeling that this author brings to the cozy mystery genre and it makes it hard not to resist getting wrapped up in a murder mystery.
Lucky Jamieson owns the local soup shop, By the Spoonful, and finds herself wrapped up in the local gossip of her small town. In a small town where everyone knows everyone and there are no secrets, it comes as a surprise when a prominent member of the community is found murdered. Soon that is all the townsfolk can talk about and when secrets start coming out, people start to not trust their neighbors. Lucky hates to see how town become like this and she is determined to solve this murder and find her missing friend, Elizabeth, at the same time. Lucky must outsmart the murderer before she becomes the next victim.
If you are looking for a typical cozy, but with a fresh take and awesome characters, this is the book for you. I really enjoyed A Spoonful of Murder as well and I think that this series has a lot of potential. For some reason it seems like all the cozy mysteries I read these days are so alike, but this one really does stand out on its own. A great cozy read for a lover of cozy mysteries who loves to spend time putting the clues together and solving the murder. Can't wait for the next installment, A Roux of Revenge.
