In the commentary for the previous episode, the mid-season premiere, I mentioned that the cast chemistry just didn’t seem to be there yet. I also felt that there was a distinct lack of energy. Many agreed, adding that there was also the factor of high altitude to consider. Maybe it added to factors already present, because if this episode is any indication, it wasn’t the likely cause. In fact, I think this would have made a much better premiere.
