Reflect on the Ever-Shifting State of Love with BRONCHO’s ‘I Know You’ [Stream]

Often times, when a band changes their sound even remotely, their experimentation is met with scorn and criticism. The singles coming from BRONCHO‘s new album, Double Vanity, though, are being met with praise from new and old fans alike — despite claims from sites like buzzbands.la that “The old BRONCHO…seems to have gone missing.” And they might have. But in place of the old BRONCHO is a band both established and fresh, keeping the same members and the same genre, but taking on a different sound and addressing new topics. “I Know You,” the fourth single off the upcoming album, is the perfect example of this. A fuzzy, dramatic lament on the situations love puts us in, the song holds different meanings depending on the person, and the aura it provides is applicable to both those falling in and falling out of love. Overall, it provides a sense of yearning — the heart-wrenching desire for something that isn’t quite within reach. It’s this yearning that both makes the song relatable for long-time fans of BRONCHO, and opens the band up to new listeners. Double Vanity is out June 10, on Dine Alone Records.
