Rakuten TV presents the Best New Releases to Enjoy this SpringWednesday 21st March 2018: London, UK – Rakuten TV starts springtime with the best new cinema releases destined to delight the whole family. New titles will be available in 4K HDR quality for Smart TVs – presenting the latest films with a genuine cinematic experience for all film lovers at home.

April’s two biggest box office successes will be available in high quality for Smart TV users on Rakuten TV. The 1995 classic Jumanji is reimagined in Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, starring Jack Black and Dwayne Johnson (a.k.a. “The Rock”). The film follows four teenagers who discover a mysterious old video game, and are transported into the game’s jungle setting, where they must survive as the adult avatars they choose.

Bringing more adventures to your home with a true cinematic experience is Star Wars: The Last Jedi, in which the galaxy faces a new threat from the First Order. Meanwhile, Rey (Daisy Ridley) must take control of her destiny, and Luke (Mark Hamill) reassesses his life as a Jedi.

With the film awards season having just come to a close, it provides the perfect opportunity for us to review some of this year’s best films and highlight which will be featured on your own Rakuten TV screens. The Greatest Showman, directed by Michael Gracey, is an original musical that celebrates the birth of showbusiness and was awarded as Best Original Song at the Golden Globes which will now be available on Rakuten TV. It will also have the multi award-nominated Molly’s Game starring Jessica Chastain, the true story of Molly Bloom, an Olympic-class skier who ran the world’s most exclusive high-stakes poker game before being investigated by the FBI.

James Franco is back on screen with The Disaster Artist, for which he was awarded Best Actor at this year’s Golden Globes. The film tells the true story of aspiring filmmakers chasing their dream, reminding audiences that some legends can be born differently.

Ridley Scott’s latest film, All the Money in the World, is a thriller based on a true story of John Paul Getty III’s kidnapping and his desperate mother’s (Michelle Williams) attempts to save her kidnapped son by trying to convince his billionaire grandfather to pay her son’s ransom.

Ferdinand is the perfect family film. The story of a young bull that escapes his captor after realizing that his father never returned from a showdown with a matador. Ferdinand’s adventure leads him to be adopted by a girl who lives on a peaceful farm.
