Leah Remini recently shared with The Hollywood Reporter that fellow actress Elisabeth Moss isn’t allowed to talk to her because the Church of Scientology forbids it.
The actress who has become an outspoken critic of the organization, since leaving, told the outlet that ‘Elisabeth Moss believes that she can’t talk to me. There’s a thing in Scientology called ‘acceptable truth.’ It means you only say what’s acceptable to the public.’
She continued:
‘But she believes that I’m an antisocial personality — because I’ve spoken out against Scientology. So she isn’t allowed to talk to me. And me knowing that, I wouldn’t put her in the awkward position.’
The actress went on to say that she holds nothing against Moss:
‘I don’t hold anything against Elisabeth Moss other than she’s continuing to support a group that is abusive and destroying families….That’s for her to learn — just as I needed to learn it.’
The two ladies will be in the same room together next month during the Emmy Awards, where Remini is nominated for Outstanding Information Series or Special for her A&E docu-series Leah Remini: Scientology and the Aftermath.
Season 2 of the series is set to return, on Tuesday, August 15 on A&E
