Congo Grille has been our family's go-to restaurant especially when we're with our relatives because of their Tribal Feasts. The food choices under each feast is absolutely delicious. It can be quite steep but if your dining with your relatives it's worth it.

The branch we always visit is at Tomas Morato and it takes us about 20-30 minutes (more if there's traffic). That's not bad though but it would be better if there's a branch closer to us. To our surprise, Congo Grille opens their newest branch at Visayas Avenue Corner Road 20 Street.

Though Congo Grille Visayas Avenue opened on April, we were only able to visit recently. The main reason would be the parking space, it isn't that big. Since they're sharing the space with their sister company Tempura Grill, it's sometimes difficult to park especially during weekends. Ha! One Sunday, we were able to park and dine at their newest branch.

Congo Grille Visayas Avenue looks small outside. Once you're in, it's quite big. They managed to use the space pretty well adding some partitions, wall plants, leaf print wallpapers and a TV. The place is also clean, well-lighted and well-ventilated. The staff were nice, too. They assisted my grandmother when we entered the restaurant.

Now onto the food! Congo Grille offers a wide selection of wholesome Filipino dishes such as Krispy Kangkong, Pinakbet, Beef Kare Kare, Tuna Belly, and their award winning Pork Sisig. For this visit, we tried the following dishes:

Crispy Crablets (Php 165)

Chicharon Bulaklak (Php 175)

Chicharon Bulaklak, I'm not a fan. Actually, I never was. We just ordered it because my uncle wanted it. I would rather have the Crispy Crablets. It's addicting (in a good way) and a definite must-try.

In addition, Sinigang na Salmon Belly sa Miso is good. It's worth mentioning that there is a good amount of fish and veggies. So the Php 295 was well spent. Last is the Pinakbet Rice which is a surprise and a delight. The serving looks small but the quantity is just right because of the Pinakbet and rice combination. Also, there's no bitterness just pure goodness.
