Other than the antioxidant carotenoids present in papaya, it also contains two other antioxidants that are very beneficial for your eyes. These are lutein and zeaxanthin. They give protection to your eyes from the UV rays and the high-intensity blue light. These two antioxidants are good for protecting your eyes from age-related macular degeneration, which is one of the causes for blindness. By taking in these carotenoids, you can improve visual acuity also.

Papaya is a rich source of fiber and thus helps in preventing constipation. So, have papaya regularly and you will not suffer from constipation.

Treat irregular menstruation problems:

Women suffering from irregular menstruation are advised to consume papaya regularly. This is a natural remedy for it. Consuming papaya helps in getting relief from menstrual cramps and ensures regular flow. Because of this property, consuming papaya is said to cause abortion. So, pregnant women are advised not to have papaya.

Tonsillitis Cure:

If you have tonsils in your throat, you can treat it by drinking papaya juice to which a little honey is added.

How to make Papaya Juice?

Ingredients Required:

  • Ripe papaya – 500 gm (diced)
  • Orange juice – 1 cup
  • Lemon juice – 3 tablespoons
  • Honey 1 tablespoon

Preparation Method:

Mix papaya juice, honey and orange and grind well till it becomes smooth. Add lemon juice and mix. Pour this juice in a container and refrigerate. Serve the juice chilled.
