Pale Honey Remind Us That Women Rock with Single ‘youth’ [video]

After releasing a three-song EP last year and playing only a handful of shows since, Pale Honey is gearing up for the release of their first self-titled full length album with a video for their single, “Youth.” The Swedish minimalist rock duo comprised of Tuva Lodmark and Nelly Daltry provides a fresh, welcome affirmation that women have a strong foothold in rock and roll. With only Lodmark providing guitar and vocals and Daltry on drums, the duo relies on catchy licks and precision to showcase their sound. “Youth” also demonstrates Pale Honey’s skilled control of song intensity, swelling and quieting (and even adding a light touch of synth) to carry the song strongly through.

Shot in black and white, the video’s simplicity mirrors the group’s minimalist style, featuring the ladies performing the song flawlessly with a sense of ease and looking effortlessly cool as hell just hanging out on the floor with each other. We can’t wait to see how hard their self titled debut, out May 5th, will rock.
