DPRK state media reported on June 28 (Tuesday) that Premier Pak Pong Ju (Pak Pong-chu) visited manufacturing sites in North P’yo’ngan Province. Pak first visited the construction of the medical oxygen factory and Okryu Children’s Hospital in Pyongyang.
Pak later toured a paper shop at the Sinu’iju Chemical Fiber Mill, a knitting shop in the Sinu’iju Textile Mill and the P’ungnyo’n Mine. He was briefed “in detail abut how the assignments of the 200-day campaign and daily quotas are being honored by the relevant units.” Pak convened a consultative meeting with employees, managers and officials. The meeting underscored “the important duties the relevant factories and a big base for producing apatite have to perform for improving the people’s living standard.”
The meeting also discussed the “issue of achieving the same signal successes as what was done during the 70-day campaign by supplying sufficient quantities of electricity and coal, the issue of adjusting and reinforcing cutting faces while concentrating efforts on earth-scraping, the issue of locally producing mining equipment and the issue of establishing cultured practices in production and life at a high level as required by highly civilized socialist nation” and the meeting “took steps for solving” these issues.
Pak Pong Ju also visited Ponghwa Chemical Factory where, according to KCNA, he “referred to the importance of establishing the energy-saving production processes” and he discusses the “issues of strengthening the independence and Chuch’e character of the national economy.”
