Overcoming The Sorrow Of Being Single Day 18 – This Is Your Season

By Loveandgrace @loveandgrace20

We are more than halfway through our 30-day blog series and I pray that you have read something that has inspired you to pursue joy. I love you all very much and I thank you for every share, tweet, and comment!

This is your seasonThis Is Your Season

To everything there is a season, A time for every purpose under heaven: (Ecclesiastes 3:1 NKJV)

Marriage can be a beautiful thing, but all stages of life are a blessing in “their season.” It is unfortunate if we miss the advantages of a season because we’re constantly anxious for the next one to come.

For eighteen years I was single, but nearly a decade of my life passed away without me taking advantage of the purpose for the season. When I found the good, when I found the reason, I found joy.

God allowed a space of time that was solely devoted to me, and I let too much of that time slip through my fingers. Every moment of worry, stole from me a moment of joy. Every moment of idolizing someone else’s marriage, were moments when I could have been preparing for my own. And every moment of inactively waiting, could have been moments of me living my life.

When a season comes around, it comes around once. Even if you find yourself in a position of being single again, it’s still different than the first time.

When God sets aside a time for a specific purpose, He does not do so haphazardly.

God has thoughtfully presented this season unto you. He has sown blessings for you to reap in THIS season. There are opportunities that may not fit well with your married life. But while you are single, there is room.

There is room to grow and move forward from the past. There is room for giving and ministry. There’s room for getting healthy and financial freedom.

This is also your season to prepare for your next season! ;)

Pray and ask the Lord today… What can I do to gain the full blessings of this single season? What purpose have you designed for my life right now?

Being single does not mean you are displaced until the next season. You are in the right place, at the right time, to receive your blessing.
