From the first quarter of 2009 to the first quarter of 2013 more Americans have renounced their U.S. citizenship under Barack Obama than the combined amount from the beginning of 1998 to the end of 2008.
2009-2012= 5668
1998-2008= 5188
The numbers come from the U.S. treasury Department and the Federal Register which is required to file a quarterly report, listing the names of those who are giving up their citizenship.
The two charts below show the numbers.
The first shows the totals from 1998 to 2011:

The second chart provides the quarterly numbers for 2012 and the first quarterly figures from 2013, released on May 8, 2013.

There is an "accomplishment" you don't see Obama touting in his endless speeches.
By the way, these are just the people renouncing their citizenship, it doesn't include the growing number of Americans just taking their money and leaving, disappearing from our tax rolls and appearing on another country's tax rolls, to avoid the "exit tax" and others meant to punish those that want to renounce.
This is the Obama legacy.
