Nubia recently launched yet another smartphone in India. This is Nubia Z11 Mini S. It is a quintessential camera smartphone with the competitive price tag of Rs. 16,999/-

Camera:

Camera is the biggest highlight of this device. nubia Z11 Mini S has a 23 MP fast focus rear camera and 13 MP front camera with Selfie Fill Light.

The 23-megapixel rear camera sensor of Z11 Mini S is complimented by SONY IMX318 Exmor RS, PDAF+Contrast Focus. In addition, it has 6-piece Motor Drive Lens and ƒ2.0 aperture. Sapphire Protective Lens protects the camera lens. The rear camera can capture 1080p high definition video and boasts of having 0.1s rapid focus to capture better rapidly taken pictures.

The 13-megapixel front camera is complimented by a SONY IMX258 CMOS, 5 piece lens, ƒ2.0 aperture and is capable of capturing 80-degree wide angle photos.

The camera modes include slow shutter, panorama, and manual. Besides these, there are also some fun effects like multi-exposure and time-lapse. It also has beautification feature for retouching of photos. For better selfies in low light, the screen flash can be used. There are also some live video effects that can be used while video chatting.

Besides the camera, other key specifications of nubia Z11 Mini S sound quite good too. It has 5.2-inch full HD display with 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution and pixel density of 424ppi and 450 nits brightness. The display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass. Z11 Mini S is equipped with Qualcomm® Snapdragon 625™ MSM8953 Octa-Core Processor clocked at 2.0 GHz. It has Adreno 506 image processor. In India, it is available with 64GB internal storage and 4GB RAM. The internal storage is expandable to 200GB. It has 3000mAh battery with nubia's proprietary NeoPower energy saving algorithm. There is no fast charging. The operating system is Nubia UI 4.0, which is based on Android Marshmallow 6.0.1. As per announcement by nubia, Nougat based OS update will arrive soon. The device also has a multi-function fingerprint sensor. It is a dual SIM device and supports both TD-LTE and FDD-LTE networks.

Features:

The fingerprint sensor can unlock the phone as well as provide some shortcuts. There are some useful user interface features like the 'Edge Gestures' and 'Screen Split-up'. The Edge Gestures makes available more shortcuts for apps and functions. The Screen Split-up is like Samsung's Multi-Window mode which allows two apps to run simultaneously in the screen.

Appearance:

nubia Z11 Mini S has a 98% metal unibody design with 5.2 inch full HD display protected by 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass. It is 7.6mm thick and weighs 158 grams. Currently, it is only available in Khaki Grey. However, soon it will also be available in Moon Gold color variant. The matte finish of the device makes the phone feel comfortable to hold. Overall, the smartphone looks quite pleasing and elegant with its minimalist design.

Pricing and Availability:

The price of nubia Z11 Mini S is Rs. 16,999/- in India. It will be available exclusively on Amazon starting from March 21, 2017 at 4PM.

Finally, nubia Z11 Mini S sounds like a very attractive option for those looking for a mid-range smartphone with excellent camera specs. Its price puts it in direct competition with devices like Moto G5 Plus and Lenovo P2. It offers a good combination of camera, performance and style. However, it has no fast charging capability and no NFC. Other than these, the key specifications of Z11 Mini S are good enough to give a speedy performance without much lag while multi-tasking or playing heavy games.
