“Not a Good Bang but a Bad Crash Bang!” Lorenzo Suding

By Socksupermarket

“The season ended with a big bang. Nothing out of the ordinary just one quick dive and the job was done. I’ve broken my collar bone in three pieces while riding with my team mate Oscar down the classic track “Rientro” down Pila mountain.

The race: We we’re training for what was the last race on the calendar, the finals of the Gravitalia. Right after getting the x-rays I decided along with the doctor to get surgery as soon as possible. Now the bone is aligned and fixated and on it’s way to healing. This is only a little hick up and I’ll be back on the bike in a month. Although a bit disappointed about missing out on the last race, I am absolutely satisfied about how the season went!

Season Summary: Against all odds the team has battled it out on all seven rounds of the UCI Rocky Roads World Cup circuit. Qualifying with ease and holding it wide open in the finals! The season has been exciting and adventurous to say the least! There have been ups and downs but a bit of suffering only makes you feel great after conquering some of your goals. Personally I am happy that I overcame injuries, adapted and came back up to speed as quick as possible, still achieving the goals I set out for. I defended my title and I measured my speed to the top pros out there. My highlight of the world cup was the 17th place in Val d’Isère in France. I came very close another three times. This is what I’m most stoked about.
