Are fans allowed?

This is one of the big wild cards. There is no straight answer. Some teams plan to open with fans, others without.

The Chiefs, for example, hosted their home opener on September 10th with 15,895 fans in attendance, 21% of Arrowhead's capacity.

Other teams, including the Tennessee Titans and Chicago Bears, had announced that they would host their respective home openings without fans in the stands in Week 2. Some of the Power 5 college football conferences are still planning to play games this fall.

The NFL may need to get government approval if it wanted to postpone games to Friday or Saturday nights based on Chapter 32 of the United States Code, which aims to keep those nights free for high school and college football from September to December.
