This weekend I was invited to the Bloggers Preview of NE1′s Newcastle Fashion Week. This was my first bloggers event and it was absolutely great, I’d certainly like to attend more things like this. I’m not the social butterfly I’d like to be but I impressed myself with my networking abilities this time (I knew they were there somewhere, I just need to master them). The girls were so lovely though, no hesitation to just come over and chat, there was a really good vibe about the place.
The event was at the new Bonbar venue at Newcastle’s Assembly Rooms. We were in the 467 Members Bar which one of the girls told me there’s a membership to the place that costs £10,000 and under what’s included it says ‘If you had to ask, it’s not for you’, my kind of venue.
Anyway it was a swell afternoon, introductory talks from Danielle Dunn of DDCA and Sandra Tang of NE1, there was prosecco on arrival, DDCA branded cupcakes and cocktail tasters of the official NFW cocktail.
Not to mention beauty treatments by ND makeup, HD brows and Hair by Toni.
We also got some lovely goodie bags on the way out with all sorts of beauty products to try out (including L’oreal and Molton Brown), and tea, there was lots of tea in there.
The event got me super excited for Newcastle Fashion Week and I hope to be able to attend a lot of the events happening.
After the event I went over to Eldon Square for one of their Fashion Live shows (more free goodie bags there too). Showing delightfully choreographed catwalk shows from Superdry, Monsoon and Next amongst others.
All in all, an excellent fashion based afternoon in Newcastle.
