New York Police Plans to Use Google Glass for Busting Bad Guys

According to a report from VentureBeat, The New York City Police Department’s massive and controversial intelligence and analytics unit is currently testing Google Glass to see if they could use it for “for investigating terrorists” and catch other criminals.

“We signed up, got a few pairs of the Google glasses, and we’re trying them out, seeing if they have any value in investigations, mostly for patrol purposes,” an officer at NYPD told VentureBeat.

Surprisingly, Google is not involved in this process. Google assumes that NYPD must have applied for Glass Explorer program to get these devices for their test. However, Google says that Glass can be used for many great things aside from every day use.

I can already imagine Police officers running after thugs yelling, “Glass, take a picture of that criminal”. Although, they will have to be careful when yelling “Freeze”, as it might freeze whatever playing or recording on the device. Well, this could be fun.
