Ready? Let's go!

Artist: Usher
Hometown: Dallas/Chattanooga/Atlanta
Genre: R&B/Soul
Related Artists: Ginuwine, Trey Songz, Keyshia Cole
Song: I Cry
Notes: Usher leaves the sexy at home to get serious and relevant on I Cry. The superstar singer sings over a heavy beat with vulnerable and honest lyrics. It's touching and important and the soft and sad side of the struggle. Emotion is good. We need it. Here it is.

Artist: Birds of Bellwoods
Hometown: Toronto, ON
Genre: Alternative/Rock
Related Artists: Duncan Fellows, Young in the City, The Corcoran Brothers
Song: Pinebox
Notes: Toronto's Birds of Bellwoods are back with their newest single, and we're playing Pinebox on a loop. The band reached out to tell us the song was coming (which got us excited) and they shared that, "Pinebox is an invitation to look yourself in the eyes, let go of who you have been, and move forward." And this feels like a really good time to look in the mirror and move forward better than before. Hit play on this one and dive in.

Artist: LÉON
Hometown: Stockholm, SWE
Genre: Pop
Related Artists: EXES, Phoebe Ryan, Betty Who
Song: And It Breaks My Heart
Notes: Packed with nostalgia-inducing feelings and imagery, And It Breaks My Heart is the kind of song that's ready to hit you hard if you're A) ready for it B) not paying attention and get caught off guard by it. Word is that LÉON plans to release her second full-length album later in 2020, and if this is a taste of what that's going to be... we're ready!

Artist: Command Sisters
Hometown: Toronto, ON via Alberta
Genre: Alternative/Rock
Related Artists: JJ Wilde, Beach Moms, ARI,
Song: I Like It
Notes: Following-up their debut single, I Can Do What I Want To, Command Sisters have dropped I Like It. And we like it. The sister duo pairs quality songwriting with strong vocals, instrumentals and production that pulls it all together for a catchy track that's going to get more eyes and ears on the pair. Also, the lyric video, zoomed in on Sarah's painted red lips singing along is captivating and catchy in its own way.

Artist: Alexis Lynn
Hometown: Vancouver, BC
Genre: Pop
Related Artists: Mlalynah, Omarion, NIIVA
Song: I Can't Relate
Notes: BC pop/R&B artist Alexis Lynn is back again with I Can't Relate. Alexis stands strong on the song, taking a hard stance against shitty men that mess around on good women. "I'm not better than you, I'm just telling the truth, that no girl should ever feel this way" is pretty standard advice - but sometimes things get foggy and it's gotta be said and heard. Add a beat and production that keeps the song on an upbeat track throughout and this one gets catchy and deserves some plays.
