Ready? Let's go!

Artist: The Killers
Hometown: Las Vegas, NV
Genre: Rock
Related Artists: Franz Ferdinand, Kaiser Chiefs, The Strokes
Song: My Own Soul's Warning
Notes: The Killers have announced their new album, Imploding The Mirage for late 2020, and My Own Soul's Warning comes as a pre-release tease of what's to come. The veteran American rockers have a sound and a groove and a path that they know how to walk calmly and with confidence, and My Own Soul's Warning is right there on that path. If you are a fan of the band, this should fit well for you. And if you aren't, give it a try and let it wash over you while you listen.

Artist: Anderson .Paak
Hometown: Oxnard, CA
Genre: Hip Hop
Related Artists: Noname, GoldLink, Rejjie Snow
Song: Lockdown
Notes: If you want some protest music with powerful truth and heart and feelings - turn up Lockdown and let Anderson .Paak serve it up. I've listened to this one half a dozen times already today, and played the video twice. Music with a message matters. And this is that.

Artist: The Dirty Nil
Hometown: Dundas, ON
Genre: Rock
Related Artists: PUP, Pkew Pkew Pkew, Single Mothers
Song: Done With Drugs
Notes: Ontario rockers, The Dirty Nil are back and rolling and ready. The new single, Done With Drugs could turn into a sober anthem. That would be pretty cool for the people that are looking for something like that. And the line, "I ain't doin' it for no one, I'm just givin' them up" might be the most powerful in the song. Turn it up and give it a go.

Artist: Nice Horse
Hometown: Calgary, AB
Genre: Country
Related Artists: Sons Of Daughters, Hunter Brothers, Dan Davidson
Song: Cowgirl
Notes: Nice Horse went from Hot Mess to Cowgirl, and we're into it. The country quartet keep things moving with strong harmonies and solos throughout the song and the track in the back is tight too with everyone pulling their weight and showing everyone why they're as bad ass as any country act in Canada, and rising stars you should be watching. Turn it up. Enjoy. You're all cowgirls!

Artist: Alee
Hometown: Edmonton, AB
Genre: Country
Related Artists: Meghan Patrick, Madeline Merlo, MacKenzie Porter
Song: The Springtime
Notes: Alee blends pop and country together in The Springtime and gives us another taste of what we hope is even more new music on the way. The Canadian artist continues to evolve her sound as she moves forward into her career, and while there will be some that bitch about the production, the songwriting and vocal talent are right where we expect from Alee's music and we're ready to see where she takes us from The Springtime to whatever comes next.
