, for starters, sampling in hip hop isn’t new. But what about sampling your favorite childhood cartoon’s theme song? Innovative? Very.
Chance the Rapper teamed up with a few artists: Wyclef Jean, Jesse Ware, Eryn Allen Kane, Elle Varner, Francis & The Lights and Donnie Trumpet to cover the theme song for PBS’s cartoon “Arthur”, originally done by Ziggy Marley. Initially, the song was debuted earlier this year at the Sasquatch Music Festival, but today, we got the official studio version. I’m a 90′s kid so of course I’m loving the nostalgia in this.
