Needlework Days: April 2012

By Feistytapas @feistytapas
With the house move you probably thought I had forgotten about Needlework Days, well you were right. In between one thing and the other it did but I had taken a photo before my cross-stitch was all boxed away.
This is a project I started probably during my pregnancy, although I have the feeling it may have been earlier. It's being stitched on a towel that I can then use as a tea towel or as a face towel. My mother is a great believer in keeping a separate towel just for drying your face during the daily beauty routine, this has been passed on to me.

Needlework Days: April 2012

Orla Kiely-inspired cross stitch

I love Orla Kiely's designs, I came across someone's cross-stitch project online a few years back and with a bit of zooming managed to work out the template. After putting it down for so long, I have learnt a lesson: whenever I use my own imagination for thread colours I must write the brand and numbers somewhere as I can't for the life of me work out which ones of my hundreds of threads I used when I started stitching this.
There you go, hope you like it! Now make sure you come on over to show me your needlework projects.
