Thoughts on Goal of the Dead

StoryWhen it comes to zombie films there never really is much to the story only the change in setting and this while shot to be two parts to make it longer than it needs to be does give us a great survival horror second half after building the characters in the first half. If you are a fan of the zombie genre you will enjoy this one even if the story isn’t the most original.

Comedy/HorrorWe get good laughs at the football hooligans in this film, we also get to look at how people see football be it fans, players or managers and how quickly they will sale out which also adds to the comedy. The horror comes from the seemingly endless amounts of zombies coming for the survivors.

Characters/PerformanceThe characters in this film are what you would expect from any zombie film with the reluctant hero, the love interest and the weasel like character and so on. The performances are not going to win any awards but they are all good for the style of this film.

SettingsMost of the settings are in and around the small football stadium where the fans and players are the zombies. This gives us the trapped location we like from all the zombie movies out there.

Special EffectsThe zombie special effects are all good here and like many zombie films trying to do something original with the look and creation of zombies.

Final ThoughtsThis is a film you can have a lot of fun watching so I would be recommending it to you all.

Overall: Sometimes you just want to have fun watching a film and this gives you that if you are a zombie film fan.
