Plot: A blind girl gets a cornea transplant so that she would be able to see again. However, she got more than what she bargained for when she realized she could even see ghosts.

Verdict: Good Horror Worth Seeing (See what i did there)
Story: The Eye starts by introducing us to our blind girl Wong Kar Mun (Lee) as she goes about her everyday life. Wong Kar Mun is getting an operation transplanting Corneas so she can see the world for the first time. The operation is a success but the rehabilitation is going to be the real test for Wong Kar Mun, along Doctor Lo (Chen) she has to get ready to see past the blurs. As Mun sight comes back to her she starts to see shadows in the distance, not sure if they are real or not she starts to explore them.
Wong Kar Mun starts seeing ghosts from all over the city and has to start psychological testing and training as she starts to become familiar with her new eyes. Mun continues to see changes but puts most of it down to side effects of the operation, but when she keeps seeing her room chance in front of her she starts to think something has gone wrong. The ghosts start to become more aggressive which leads to Mun having to see a different specialist about her problem. Mun must work out what these ghosts are trying to communicate with her before she completely loses her mind.
The Eye takes what could be considered a normal operation and turns what look like normal side effects for a character who has never seen making them a horrifying twist. I do feel that this is a good old fashion ghost investigation film which you all know I love by now. I do think a lot of what happens is similar to ‘The Sixth Sense’ where the ghosts just visit looking for help rather than to haunt but saying that we do get some very good scares. My negative thoughts on this film would be that I never felt like our lead was ever in any true danger which would have made the investigation feel more urgent. This will go down as a good story that really works on a very simple change in a life that takes a terrifying twist. (7/10)
Actor Review
Angelica Lee: Wong Kar Mun is our blind girl who receives the cornea transplant but soon starts seeing terrifying vision of ghosts and she even sees a different person in the mirror. She must investigate what happened to the donor before it is too late and the ghosts take over her life. Angelica does a good job in the role showing a mix of real fear with the mix of not understanding what is real or not. (7/10)
Support Cast: The Eye has a support cast that really does help with the investigation but also manages to give us shocking moments with the ghost visits.
Director Review: Oxide Pang Chun, Danny Pang – The pair put together a good horror film that mixes real horror with slow building tension. (8/10)
Horror: The Eye gives us well built up jump scares that you don’t actually see happening as well as holding back on the ones you think will happen. (8/10)
Thriller: The Eye keeps you guessing to what really is happening from the moment she first sees the figure. (7/10)
Settings: The Eye uses each setting to show how the normal life has been changed but the operation. (7/10)
Special Effects: The Eye uses the special effects to make all the ghost visits have scares that are slightly different each time. (8/10)
Suggestion: The Eye is one for all the horror fans to enjoy as it is far superior to the America remake. (Horror Fans Watch)
Best Part: Ghost visits and shadow behind them all.
Worst Part: I don’t feel like our lead was ever in actually danger.
