Movie Review: Smallfoot A Journey Of Acceptance, Friendship & Loyalty
I usually don’t connect with animated films, but Smallfoot was an exception.

In the PG film, a community of Yeti’s world get’s thrown for a loop when they find out that humans do exist.  With fear of the unknown, both groups struggle with figuring out how to peacefully coexist in the same world.  It’s kinda like what’s going on in our society today, which is what made me pay attention.  We fear groups of people based on what the media or other people have told us.  We assume things are true about a certain group of people without seeking the truth. The Bible tells us to love thy neighbor as thyself, but do we even know our neighbor? Groups of people living in their own “part” of town, protecting their “part” from other groups.

It’s a movie for the entire family! While the kids are being entertained, the parents will be enlightened.  It stars Channing Tatum as Migo, Danny DeVito, James Corden, LeBron James,  Gina Rodriguez, and Common as the Stonekeeper. A man of wisdom, and the most powerful Yeti, whose job is to keep the yeti community “safe” from outside influences.

The heart of the movie is about despite their differences, and being frightened at first, Migo (a Yeti) and Percy (a human) becoming friends.  The two learn the gifts of friendship and loyalty, and the importance of being true to yourself.
