  • Motorola launched its first G-series phones with a 108-megapixel camera.
  • The Moto G60 also has a large 6,000 mAh battery and a 120 Hz display.
  • The company has also announced the cheaper Moto G40 Fusion.

Motorola has launched its first mid-range phone with the 108 megapixel camera. The Moto G60 has arrived in India alongside the cheaper Moto G40 Fusion.

Both smartphones are equipped with the Snapdragon 732G chipset, 6.8-inch 120 Hz IPS LCD displays, a 6,000 mAh battery and Android 11.

The devices manufactured in India are identical except for the camera settings. In this department, the Moto G60 is the first G-series phone to receive a high-resolution 108-megapixel camera. It also has an 8-megapixel sensor that can take both ultra-wide and macro photos, as well as a third 2-megapixel depth sensor. There's a 32MP selfie shooter in a centered hole in the front.

Meanwhile, the Moto G40 Fusion opts for a 64MP main sensor. The other two sensors on the rear view camera and the selfie snapper are the same as on the G60.

Elsewhere, the two new Moto phones have a physical fingerprint sensor on the back. They also have a dedicated Google Assistant button on the side to enable voice control. You can also use Motorola's quick gestures for easy access. For example, you can twist your wrist to open the camera, hack down twice to turn on the flashlight, and take a screenshot with a single touch of a button.

Motorola claims that the Moto G60 and G40 Fusion are "water repellent" and can withstand splashes or spills. However, the company has not given official IP ratings for the waterproofing.
